It was the first Three Hour
Endurance Race in many years at the New Hampshire International
Speedway.
The three hour race was
held on September 2nd, 2001 with 35 team entries.
I was part of the TEAM
DEAD CHEST and we raced with a DUCATI
Monster 750.
The team was put together
about 10 days prior the race. We did not have the opportunity to have a
"formal prior racing meeting and discussions" and we basically met at the
track on the day of the race - However, we helped each other to get
organized and everything went as smooth as it could be.
It was a great team work
and a great privilege for me to be part of the team with such fine racers,
here the name of the six riders, in order of riding:
Steve DelGrosso, Chris Cramer,
John Buanno, Dave Kaskoun, Brian Murphy and Edgar Muller.
The team success was also
due to the excellent participation of:
Matt Guilbault: The man
who kept Rider and Team informed. Note: Matt was supposed to be one of
the riders, but due to injuries in a crash a couple of days earlier, he
was unable to ride. However, he provided to the riders excellent
support at the pits. Thanks Matt!
Curt Lavoie: Bike
refueling.
Bruce Meyers: BCM
Ducati (The Ducati guru).

We had so much fun,
while racing (well, that was one of the best parts)... but also
at the pits, making sure that whole team knew what to do and when; watching
the rider on the track, attention to the elapsed time and making sure that
the rider received the necessary information about his remaining time on
the track and his time to pit in.
Some pictures below and more
about the endurance race on Chris
Cramer website and
John Buanno website.
We finished 14th
out of 19 GTL.
