| EX-500
Racing: Here a few tips on the parts for an EX-500
racing bike. These are parts I used on my 1999 EX-500.

 Jetting
EX500: Unless you are heavily modifying the bike, I do not recommend
changing the jets.
I installed a Dyno Jet Kit Stage # 1: After several attempts, final tuning was K&M needles on groove # 2, K&N filter and Main Jet # 118. Power was increased, but a huge flat spot at 7,000 rpm was left. Back to stock Main Jet (# 130), power was kept strong, with a small flat spot at 4,500 rpm. According to my experience, stock jet, needle and air filter on the EX500 would be the best option. |
