    Beacon Ignore setting

This function is important to avoid the risk of false lap times in the case of more than one beacon being deployed on the trackside. We suggest that you set this value about 10 seconds LESS than your likely best lap time. In any case it is best to deploy only one trackside beacon so keep an eye out for other people using this equipment! To set the value in seconds, follow the following instructions:

    1. Turn the display on with the ON/VIEW button.
    2. Press MENU/<< button 3 times. MIN TIME will flash on the screen.
    3. Press CONF/>> button and the word SEC together with a 3 digit value will be displayed.
    4. Press NEXT/MEM to increase the value of the flashing digit. Then press CONF/>> to move to the next digit. This digit can then be adjusted by pressing NEXT/MEM. Continue this process until you have entered a value in seconds that is about 10 seconds LESS than your expected lap time.
    5. Pressing MENU/<< 4 times will return you to the initial opening screen and save your new setting.
    Vis Time setting

This function sets the displaying time of the lap time at the end of a lap and is only effective if you are using the scrolling lap time (see section below titled TIMER FEATURE). To set the value in seconds, follow the following instructions:

    1. Turn the display on with the ON/VIEW button.
    2. Press MENU/<< button 4 times. VIS TIME will flash on the screen.
    3. Press CONF/>> button and the word SEC together with a 3 digit value will be displayed.
    4. Press NEXT/MEM to increase the value of the flashing digit. Then press CONF/>> to move to the next digit. This digit can then be adjusted by pressing NEXT/MEM. Continue this process until you have entered a value in seconds that you want the lap time to be displayed for before it reverts to the scrolling time of the current lap.
    1. Pressing MENU/<< 3 times will return you to the initial opening screen and save your new setting.
    Timer Feature

You’re MY-CHRON Light MCL has 2 modes of operation. The default mode in which the previous lap time is displayed until it is updated by passing the transmitter and the TIMER mode in which you see the lap time scrolling up until you pass the transmitter. At this point the display is frozen for the period of time that you have set in VIS TIME setting above. To change the mode, follow the following instructions:

    1. Turn the display on with the ON/VIEW button.
    2. Press MENU/<< button 6 times. Y TIMER will appear on the screen with the Y flashing. This is the factory default mode. To change to TIMER mode, press the CONF/>> button once and the flashing Y will change to a flashing N.
    3. Pressing MENU/<< once will return you to the initial opening screen and save your new setting.
    Engine Running Time

You’re MY-CHRON Light MCL will calculate the running time of your engine and this can be displayed in hours by the following method.

    1. Turn the display on with the ON/VIEW button.
    2. Press MENU/<< button once and TOT RUN will flash on the screen.
    3. Press CONF/>> and the total running time in hours will be displayed.
    4. Press CONF/>> again and MEM CLEAR will flash.
    5. Press NEXT/MEM will clear the memory. Pressing any other key will NOT clear the memory.
    Data Deletion

This function clears all data stored in memory and can be accessed as follows:

    1. Turn the display on with the ON/VIEW button.
    2. Press MENU/<< button twice and CLR DATA will flash on the screen.
    3. Press CONF/>> and MEM CLEAR will flash on the screen.
    4. Press NEXT/MEM will clear the memory. Pressing any other key will NOT clear the memory.
    Split Times

This function sets how many split time beacons you have on the track. (Additional beacons are available from M-Tech Tel. +44(0)1451 822458). It is possible to set up additional beacons round the track. These beacons placed after the start line beacon will give split times. If additional beacons are set up, it is essential to set the MIN TIME (see above) value less than the time between the start line beacon and the first split time beacon. If you are just using the start line beacon, this value should be 0. To set the number of split time beacons, follow the following instructions:

    1. Turn the display on with the ON/VIEW button.
    2. Press MENU/<< button 5 times and TOT SPLT will flash on the screen.
    3. Press CONF/>> and SPT and a single flashing digit will appear on the screen.
    4. Press NEXT/MEM until the number of additional beacons is showing.
    5. Pressing MENU/<< twice will return you to the initial opening screen and save your new setting.
    Power Supply

The Best power supply for the transmitter is an external 12volt source such as a car/motorcycle battery or any of the 12volt Yuasa batteries available from Maplins etc. You can use 8xAA batteries if you take the back off the transmitter and carefully install the batteries in the carrier.
